German magazine devoted to posters and advertising, with illustrations by major German artists of the era, as well as French, English and American artists. Das Plakat was first published in 1910, here the so-called Munich issue. The magazine was founded by Hans Josef Sachs. He owned a large collection of posters, which were later confiscated by the Nazi government; some have survived and can be seen today at the Berlin Museum of German History. The lithographs were made by, among others: Ernst Vogenauer, Ludwig Hohlwein, Emil Preetorius, Otto Ottler, Karl Arnold. Valentin Zietara, Franz Paul Glass. J.H. Maier.
