Paris 1840. Firmin Didot Freres. 14x21.5 cm, pp. (4), 348, set of 55 intaglio, including fold-out map of Poland, period hardcover, half leather with gilt and decoration. Good condition (traces of foxing, minor soiling, rubbing of binding).

Published in French richly illustrated history of Poland. The intaglio depicts, among others, Polish cities such as Warsaw, Cracow, Wieliczka, Wilanów and Kalisz, as well as portraits of distinguished Poles - Tadeusz Kosciuszko, John III Sobieski, Wladyslaw IV Vasa, Adam Zamoyski. The book was published in the series L'Universe. Histoire et description de tous les peuples.
