Led to 1848 memoirs of Wojciech Stanisław Nepomucen Goczałkowski (1809-1866). The author, a publicist and diarist, spins a colorful tale of his youth and participation in the November Uprising, during which he fought under General Dezyder Chłapowski, as an officer of the 1st Uhlan Regiment. The book is decorated with two colorful frontispieces with likenesses of Polish soldiers and 14 lithographs by Zygmunt Bogusz Stęczynski according to drawings by Bogumil Gąsiorowski, depicting the events described in the book .
