Żupański Bookstore. 24.5×16.5 cm, pp. VIII, 430, II, 535, II, 263, 3 (3 volumes in 3 volumes - set), black and white illustrations, period binding, half leather with gilt and decorations. Good condition (rubbing of half-leather, isolated soiling of pages, stamps and ownership entries of Waclaw Zaremba and his son Gustav, physicians originating from Greater Poland).

First edition. One of the most important hippological textbooks published in Poland. The author, Marian Hutten-Czapski coat-of-arms Leliwa (1816-1875), a Polish count, hippologist, beekeeper, doctor of law and participant in the January Uprising, worked on his work for three years, describing in detail most types of horses. In the contents, among other things: The position of the horse among other beings. The earliest references to the horse. The horse in the Egyptians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Persians, Greeks.
