Warsaw 1860. 33x26,5 cm, p.8, plates with engravings, lithographs (6), cloth binding. Good condition (rubbing of binding, trace of corner flooding on back of title page (without text), slight soiling of pages, lithographs in nice condition, ex libris of former owner).
In the descriptive part, Kraszewski weaves his childhood memories related to Rymanow and Biala (Biala Podlaska), presents a brief history of these cities and their monuments. The album includes plates with lithographs on tint, signed by Kraszewski. Not everyone is aware that Kraszewski was not only a writer, publisher and historian, but also a painter. The lithographs presented in the album were created according to the novelist's drawings. The engravings depict landmarks from Romanow Podlaski: an old manor house, a cheesecake in Chmielitz, an orangery, a chapel in Rymanow, an empty cottage by the water, and a garden. The lithographs were printed at Adam Dzwonkowski's workshop. Lithographed by Julian Ceglinski. Only the title page lithographed by Ludwik Piechaczek. Only the first notebook was published. Unique on the antiquarian market.
