Memories of travels through the former lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, with colorful tales of the history and inhabitants of individual places - both of the nobility (Sanguszko, Radziwill, Lubomirski and others) and the country folk. The author visited Styr, Horyń, Stepan, Czartorysk, Okon, Pinsk, Slawuta, Miedzyrzec Korecki, Olitsa, Mlynov, Dubno, Lutsk, Ostróg, among others. The engravings decorating the book according to the author's drawings were engraved by Cowland, E. Deschamps, Dumont, J. Piaud and others.
