Diplomatic note on the persecution and crimes committed against the Jewish population in German-occupied Poland. This was the first official Holocaust report informing Western public opinion of German crimes. The report was prepared by Edward Raczynski on the basis of documents and Jan Karski's own accounts. The note was distributed on December 10, 1942 to 26 foreign ministers of governments of countries that were signatories to the United Nations Declaration. In 21 points it outlined the very difficult situation of the Jews in occupied Poland, and called on the allied countries to act. Unique. At one Sothebys auction it was sold for £2,000.Recently viewed
