Inventory of plebeian families who impersonated nobility. The work of Walerian Nekanda Trepka, a.k.a. Sieciechowski (ca. 1585-1640), preserved in manuscript from 1626, being one of the most interesting monuments of Polish writing of the 17th century. Published in print for the first time in 1963. Under the guise of heraldic literature, the book hides a sharp criticism of the Polish noble families of the time, aimed at ridiculing the false nobility and demonstrating its various transgressions. Enumerated alphabetically are 2,534 names of people who are supposed to be unjustifiably regarded as belonging to the noble state.
